Dr David Boyle is a Research Associate on the EU funded Horizon 2020 project PATROLS.
Project: Physiologically Anchored Tools for Realistic nanOmateriaL hazard aSsessment (PATROLS)
Principal Investigator: Prof Ted Henry
David is an ecotoxicologist in the Nano-Safety Research Group at Heriot Watt University investigating the environmental effects of engineered nanomaterials. His work focuses specifically on determining chronic exposure effects of nanomaterials at different trophic levels in aquatic ecosystems and the identification and development of assays with read-across potential to link human and ecotoxicity testing.
David is an experienced aquatic ecotoxicologist and also has broader research interests in fish physiology. Prior to working at Heriot Watt University, David has also worked as a research scientist at institutes in UK (King’s College London, Plymouth University), Norway (National Institute of Nutrition and Seafood Research) and Canada (University of Alberta).
