Project title: The impacts of microplastic ingestion in intertidal invertebrate species

Project supervisor: Dr Ted Henry

Plastics are a well-known  anthropogenic stressor to marine ecosystems. Alongside this, microplastics (MPs) within the marine environment have developed into a prominent environmental issue. MPs are small enough to be ingested by marine organisms, but there is a limited understanding of the effects that MPs have in marine organisms, and particularly intertidal invertebrates.  My thesis will investigate some of the gaps in our understanding of the effects of MPs in intertidal invertebrate organisms.
