Josiane Aparecida de Souza Vendemiatti was supported by a grant she was awarded from the program “Mobilidade de Funcionários Técnicos e Administrativos 2015” Program – Edital VRERI 051/2015

Josiane joined the EPAQ laboratory on a research exchange visit during autumn 2015 from her institution, the University of Campinas (UNICAMPI) where she holds an apointment as a research and teaching associate.

During her visit to the EPAQ Laboratory she conducted ecotoxicology experiments with zebrafish and pond snails exposed to varying concentrations of azo dyes.  Upon completion of exposure, the organisms were sampled for gene expression analyses focused on assessment of oxidative stress pathways.  Analyses of these results are on-going.
