Margarida Antunes completed her MSc in Marine Ecology at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon in Portugal, where she studied the “Distribution and shape analysis of Phorcus lineatus and Phorcus sauciatus along the Portuguese coast”.

She is a visiting scholar (ERASMUS Program) in the EPAQ Laboratory in the School of Life Sciences at Heriot-Watt University.  Her research investigates the impacts of micro and nano plastics in zebrafish, and contributes to the overall program on the effects of plastics in the environment.
